Iboga Ceremony

​Before attending an Iboga ceremony, The Origin requests that you obtain and send in the results from an ECG test, a liver test and a blood pressure test performed by a doctor, making sure that all your heart, liver and blood pressure functions are in a healthy condition. Your doctor or specialist must approve your test results. You can only participate when all results are without complications. You also must refrain from the use of all recreational drugs, alcohol and/or prescribed medications 3 weeks before and 8 weeks after the ceremony.

As part of your application process, you will also have a Skype call with Celine some weeks before the ceremony. This call is intended to review your health test results and to get to know each other a little bit more.

You are not required to follow any special diet in preparation for the ceremony. Eating a pure and healthy diet is enough.

​Each participant is responsible for providing accurate and complete information about relevant medical history, past illnesses, medications, and other health-related topics.

Contra indications:

Medical conditions such as (severe) asthma, cancer, problems with the cerebellum (maintaining balance), chronic fainting, diabetes, emphysema, epilepsy, intestinal diseases, gynecological problems, HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis C (if active with liver enzymes 200% above normal), kidney problems, liver problems, thyroid problems, tremors, tuberculosis, sleep apnea, major respiratory conditions, impaired liver and kidney functions, limited-function organs, illnesses of heart and blood vessels, psychosis, borderline personality disorder, pregnancy.

Chronicle diseases,

Use of medication and drugs, such as anti-depressants and nerve depressor, sleeping-pills, alcohol, methadone, heroine, crack, meth, ketamine, GHB or cocaine.

​Low/high blood pressure:

170/105 or higher or 90/60 or lower, while not taking blood pressure medication.

For risk “borderline QTc” in males is 431-450 ms, and in females451-470 ms. An “abnormal” QTc in males is above 450 ms, and in females, above 470ms. These are ‘no go’.

It is EXTREMELY important to be honest about your health and use of drugs, alcohol, medication and other substances. We don’t work with Ibogaine. Neither do we sell Iboga or Ibogaine! We work strictly with the whole root bark (Tabernanthe Iboga), which hasbeen sourced in a way that supports the sustainability of the Iboga tree and the Bwiti tradition.
